Due to the use of recycled fibers, packaging may contain some of the substances listed in Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 of the State of California also known as California Prop 65 list as impurities. Please note that we have not made any further assessments on these substances. It should be noted that California Prop 65 is only applicable for the products put on a market in the US California.
Persistent Organic Pollutants
This is to confirm that persistent organic pollutants (POP’s) are not used as raw materials or intentionally added in the production of corrugated board Pakkauspojat Oy uses. However, when corrugated packages have been produced with any recycled content, we cannot exclude the presence of POP’s substances as an impurity in liner/fluting produced with recycled fibers. Issuer declares that all our corrucated cardboard products as of the date of issuance of this Declaration do not contain any of the REACH ANNEX XIV Substances referenced in the 59 Annex XIV entries, as updated by ECHA on April 8, 2022.
At the date of signing of this document our products do not contain substances included on the Candidate list in a concentration above 0,1% (w/w). Our products do not contain substances that require authorization, or substances included in Annex XVII, Restrictions, where the restriction is applicable on our use.
Our corrugated board products are not classified as electrical or electronic equipment according to RoHS. RoHS Directive 2015/863/EU and 2011/65/EU (RoHS 2)

This declaration certifies that all corrucated cardboard products supplied by Pakkauspojat Oy do not contain any of the below listed Persistent, Bioaccumulative, and Toxic (PBT) substances as restricted under US Code of Federal Regulations title 40, part 751 – “Regulation of Certain Chemical Substances and mixtures under section 6 of The Toxic Substances Control Act”(TSCA).

Pakkauspojat Oy and its material suppliers are committed to using only suitable materials in each case with our customers. When our materials or packages are used in direct contact with food, the materials are always selected so that packaging materials do not transfer any constituents into food in quantities that endangers health or changes properties of the packed food.
Food contact materials and articles, manufactured by our suppliers, comply with the Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 to ensure they are safe at the intended end-use application. All food contact materials and articles are manufactured in accordance with the Good Manufacturing Practises (GMP) as required in the Regulation (EC) 2023/2006.
PFAS are not used as raw material or intentionally added to the materials we use. Please note that our material suppliers do not analyze PFAS and traces of PFAS may be found in corrugated board and packaging as an impurity.
We use corrugated materials from fully virgin and fresh fibers, where PFAS are not used. But we also use predominantly or fully recycled fiber materials. According to our material suppliers information the amount of recycled fibers in corrugated cardboard materials varies a lot and depends on the material that is used. In some materials there are no recycled fibers at all (virgin and fresh fibers) as in some materials the amount of recycled fibers is from 10% up to 85% of the material. Products made from recycled fibers may contain residuals of PFAS as an impurity due to use of recycled fibers. If recycled fibers are used, an additional barrier might be needed if it is necessary to prevent migration of substances.
Products produced by Pakkauspojat Oy, comply with relevant applicable European legislation. Conflict minerals (Tantalum, Tin, Gold, Tungsten) are not intentionally added in our cardboard products or materials. Conflict minerals are not needed in the production of our products or materials.
Pakkauspojat Oy certifies that all corrugated cardboard products manufactured by us, as well as the materials used in our production, are sourced from Finland or within the European Union.
Pakkauspojat Oy is committed to providing customers with high-quality and environmentally friendly corrugated cardboard products with a reliably traceable origin. All corrugated cardboard materials used in our production processes meet stringent environmental and quality standards, ensuring a safe and sustainable supply chain.
Between 75-90% of the corrugated cardboard materials we use are sourced from Finland, while the remainder comes from within the European Union. The majority of our products are manufactured at our production facility in Finland, with the rest produced by our partners within the EU. These externally produced items are primarily certain types of cardboard that have limited availability in Finland. This supports the local economy and shortens supply chains, ensuring high quality and reliability.
